Boeing ordered to pay $28.45 million to widower of Ethiopian Airlines 737 MAX crash victim
This was the first civil lawsuit filed against the American aircraft manufacturer following the March 2019 crash of a plane that had departed from Addis Ababa bound for Nairobi. Settlements are also expected on the October 2018 crash involving another 737 MAX 8 operated by the Indonesian airline Lion Air. The two crashes together claimed 346 lives.
