Trump ratchets up immigration threats to Democratic-run cities
He attributed to “Radical Left Democrats” seemingly every failing known to humanity.
In a Sunday tirade zeroing in on Democratic leaders, President Donald Trump said he wants to “expand efforts to detain and deport illegal Aliens in America’s largest cities.”
His Truth Social post attempted to distinguish between those he called “REAL Americans” and those “Radical Left Democrats” to whom he attributed a long list of sins, vices and general moral failings. The post came a day after widespread “No Kings” protests were held in cities and towns across the country, as well as days after he federalized the National Guard and sent Marines to Los Angeles (one of the cities he mentioned in Sunday’s post, along with Chicago and New York City) to deal with protests centering on immigration.
“ICE Officers are herewith ordered, by notice of this TRUTH, to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History,” Trump said.
Trump’s commitment to reversing “the tide of Mass Destruction Migration” came after last week’s Truth Social post in which he expressed concern that too many migrants were being deported from farms, hotels and restaurants, dealing potentially crippling blows to those sectors of the economy. “Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace,” he wrote on Thursday.
That post drew blowback from some of his supporters, even on Truth Social itself.
Sunday’s post had a different tone.
“Our Federal Government will continue to be focused on the REMIGRATION of Aliens to the places from where they came, and preventing the admission of ANYONE who undermines the domestic tranquility of the United States,” he wrote.
