Europe rolls out new carbon border tax, but industry leaders remain unconvinced

The European Union launches its Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism on January 1. In December, Brussels expanded the scope of this system, which taxes imports of the most polluting industrial products. Although designed to shield Europe from foreign competition, many consider it insufficient.
